Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Vocap (“the app”), published by Anastassiya Shugaley (“we”). Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. This licence does not transfer ownership of anything.

2. Your content is yours

Videos you bring into the app, and the captions produced from them, remain entirely yours. We claim no rights over them and never receive them: processing happens on your device. You are responsible for having the right to use the footage you caption.

3. Vocap Pro subscription

• Vocap Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription: $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year. The yearly plan begins with a 7-day free trial.
• Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local currency and by region; the price shown in the app before you confirm is the price you pay.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the period already paid for.
• If you begin a free trial and buy a subscription, any unused part of the trial is forfeited.
• Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. What the free version does

Without a subscription the app captions videos up to 20 seconds, offers two of the caption looks, and exports both the finished video and the .srt subtitle file with no watermark. Saving your own work is never charged for.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to produce or distribute material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that you do not have permission to use. Do not attempt to decompile, resell or redistribute the app itself.

6. Accuracy

Speech recognition is automatic and imperfect. Accuracy depends on the recording, the speaker and the language, and can be affected by noise or accent. Check the transcript before you publish; the app gives you word-level editing for exactly that reason. We do not warrant that recognition will be accurate or that every language is available offline on every device.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Third parties

The app uses Google Firebase for anonymous analytics and crash reporting, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Apple

Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Termination

This licence ends if you stop complying with these terms or delete the app.
